Sweet Poppy Christmas Wreath and an Italian Collection Die

Christmas is coming!

An effective card using three main elements. A die cut shape using an Italian Collection die from Creative Expressions, The beautiful Wreath stencil  from Sweet Poppy Stencils and a free sentiment from a magazine mounted on the circle from the same die set. An embossed background to layer it all on. I did cut the die twice to give it body to take the glitter paste. Still goes out on normal posting so think this may well be one of my batch makes!

Aurora Borealis - Take Two!

My second take on a card demonstrated by Sue Wilson on Hochanda recently....

This time I decided to start with black card and see how it went!!  I outlined the hill with Archival white. Next onto Memento Brilliance in assorted colours to add the "Aurora". This gives a much more subtle effect but I quite like it.....Cut out several Winter Trees and deep embossed. Used Creative Expression Pewter Gilding Wax. Stamped a Star from my stash and added Stickles for sparkle. Defined the hillocks with a white pen for interest. Shadowed the sentiment die from my stash.

Winter Trees and a lot of ink

Creative Expression dies and Winter Trees

My card was based on a Demo Sue Wilson did over the weekend on TV.
Hill foreground first and then the colours and then more Ink. I mainly used Hickory Smoke and Black Soot for the darker areas and Memento Inks for the Colours. Thick black card and a deep embosss on the Winter Trees  dies and Gilding wax from Creative Expressions ( pewter I think) lightly applied and then buffed up. The sentiment was die cut in black and white and shadowed so the white was in the background to soften the look .
White pen for the mass of stars and to highlight the edge of the trees.
