Tag Card

Todays Tag Card
For those times when you want a smaller card or tag a combination to make a tag card could be the answer.
I made a  tag card blank from a die by Tim Holtz by overlapping the folded edge of the card a little on the cutting edge  so it didn't cut ( hope that makes sense!)
Made two more smaller layers using the first as a template. The smallest I used to stamp my Chocolate Baroque image and also the sentiment (from my stash). Coloured and then inked around the edges. Layered up and threaded a ribbon to finish

Stencil Inks and Flower Die

Floral Card with a Stencil and Inks

Thought I would use a 6" x 6" card base for todays card.
I used the large Smoothie Blending Sponges from Creative Expressions to  ink over random circles. Quick blast with a heat gun

Used a circle stencil and made a mental diagonal line. I used a dimensional  paste and sprinkle over a burgundy embossing powder. Left to dry before heating.
Made 5 Peony Flowers using the Creative Expression Open and Closed Dies and then stamped with the co-ordinating Stamp.
Cut a die for the sentiment ( from a set by Phill Martin) to be stamped on.

A quick card today using a Sue Wilson Mini Striplet Die
Butterfly striplet cut into a pale blue Adorable Scorable card.
Cut the panel form gloss card and used Distress Inks to colour.

Also cut the 4 single Butterflies and coloured as background.
Cut the On Your Special Day Sentiment in the pale blue and white and shadowed the wording.... The difference in the colours is not showing too well.
Cut a few of the flowers from the Petite Peony cluster for the corner

Poppy Power Digi Stamp and Creative Expressions Frame

Power Poppy Digi Stamp

I recently found the Power Poppy site and love some of their images - mainly floral but others to choose from.
I'm too impatient to wait for a delivery so buy as digi stamps so that I can resize as I like.
I coloured using Wink of Stella pens. Alcoholic pens work well also.

I made the frame for mounting from the Noble Pierced Rectangle Set from Sue Wilson at Creative Expressions..

Groovi Day

Parchment card today.........

Don't get too much time for "parching" so the new Groovi system is a great alternative and gives such great results.  The corner punch makes mounting so much easier too, though you can only really have one size of margin for the layers to fit  in the slots.
Coloured from the back with Spectrum Noir Pencils and used one off the border plates for the edging. I went over it free hand to double the effect up.

New Home Card

Lavinia Stamps Digi Stamp

I was asked for a New Home Card and what better than to use a Digi print that I had bought from Lavinia Stamps. Coloured in and used Distress Inks for the background and the leaf around the edges.  Made the New Home sentiment using a Sweet Poppy Stencils and layered onto gold linen effect card.

Butterfly Frame

Chocolte Baroque Butterfly Frame

I saw a frame in a shop and thought I could make something similar for a fraction of the cost. Bought a box frame and found a sheet of wedding paper for the background. Stamped a selection of Butterflies from Chocolate Baroque onto parchment. and cut out. Arranged as shown. Have since added a row of small pearls onto the mount board to link in with the paper but no photo as I gave it away!!

Happy New Year

Welcome to my 1st Blog of 2016!

This is a quick/ish!!  card using a lovely set of stamps from Chocolate Baroque

Hexagonal base card. Also cut a frame and a smaller hexagonal and frame for the sentiment.
I used  Distress inks - Fossilised Amber and Espresso for the honeycombstamping. I prefer to use a blender sponge  or similar to put the ink to the stamp. This technique for me gives a more defined stamping as excess moisture is taken up by the blender. I love the blender sponges from Creative Expressions - now available as a mini size.
Stamped the larger Bee onto heat resistant acetate and cut out. Added colour from the back with alcohol markers.
Stamped other Bees direct to card

Smoothies - Ink Blending Sponge
That's all for today.....Catch up again soon
