Chocolate Baroque + Brushos

Chocolate Baroque Stamp
from  the Briar Rose Set

I'm getting used to my Brushos now and have learnt that much, much less is more!! I  like to use 3 colours and this time used lemon, purple and leaf green. Lightly misted straight to card sprinkle chosen Brushos and then misted lightly again. I like to blot off any areas I want to lighten, with a kitchen towel. Stamped Chocolate baroque image and used Spectrum Noir pencils to colour. Not sure of origin of the sentiment stamp. Matt and layering to finish.

Card number Two from Chocolate Baroque - Christmas Creatures

This card is the opposite technique to the card I posted yesterday - an Out of the Circle card. For me not so confusing in the cutting department as an "innie" !!. I coloured with Distress Inks and then Distressed the edges. A white pen to highlight the Owls eyes and then I placed Glossy Accents or similar to the eyes, bauble and mistletoe berries. A dotty background which I randomly embossed to give a snowfall effect....

Christmas Poinsettia - a Sue Wilson Die

Craft Dies by Sue Wilson Poinsettia

A fairly quick card today using Creative Expression Poinsettia and  Holly.
Die cut for 3 flowers and 2 holly stems. Added some Liquid Pearls in the flower centre and berries. Before mounting I used the Hougie Board to create a decorative border and a Spellbinders circle die -  embossed only for the centre detail.

Brusho Butterfly

Brushos and a Butterfly Stamp

The same stamp as before but the time I placed a lightly misted stamp with brushos and then painted in the flower area after to make the flowers "ping". Brushos are so versatile to work with......simple matt and layering to finish

Rubbernecker Stamps

Wildflowers Rubbernecker Stamp.....

A Rubbernecker stamp for my card today.
It is a corner composition but decided to see what happened if I extended it and voila it worked quite well! I used
Oak House Studio ink pads and then very lightly misted the stamp before putting to the paper. Then when dry I misted some Oak House Studio Metallic Silver Ink in a Bottle. The mica shows up well in the photo I think.....

Butterfly with Brusho Paints

Brusho Paints

Gave this technique a go after seeing a card which Eileen had posted

large clear images are good for this technique - I think this stamp was a little busy....but it is OK
Mist the stamp lightly, very gently sprinkle your Brusho Crystal Paints on randomly then very lightly mist again. The trick is to get all your paints damp without dripping or your image will not be crisp.....why not give it a go?

Two Stencil Christmas Card

Christmas Card using 2 Stencils

I created the background with Distress Paints and Stains and then Spritzed with silver mica. Whilst still wet I pressed on some bubble wrap. Left for a few minutes and then lifted off. I think it gives a a subtle effect.
I used The Flowing Branch from Designs by Ryn with Diamond Sparkle Medium from Imagination Crafts  and sprinkled some Frantage.
The second stencil is the Damask Baubles from Sweet Poppy Stencils. I used Lavender Sparkle Medium...

Spellbinder Stamps

Free Stamps!

Well if you're like me I love a freebie when it's quality as well! The latest edition of Creative Stamping has a great set of free Spellbinders Stamps with an embossing folder!! I thought I would combine with my Spellbinder Poinsettia Die for this card.

Prepared my matt and layering making 3 "pairs". Took the top of each pair and layered together using a tiny amount of glue stick to keep in place. Used one of the stamps and stamped to take all 3 layers in. I used gold embossing powder. Separate and mark the top of each layer so that you keep them lined upon the matt and layering. Matt them onto your coloured card as shown and then for the base card I used a 7" square.  Stamped and cut out a couple of the stamps for decoupage.
Added 3 glittered poinsettias and stamped  sentiment from the set onto a die cut tag.

Sweet Poppy Stencil and Acrylic Paints

Poppy Stencil

I had a bit of a play with the background and continued experimenting with cling film. I used a gummed water colour paper and placed acrylic paints on randomly. Spritzed the uncoated areas with pearl mica in water and then misted water over the paints. Plonked on the cling film and left. Not such a good result with these " ingredients" but was happy with the background when dry. Added a Poppy Stencil with black glossy paste from Sweet Poppy Stencils. May add a sentiment or wording later. Thanks for looking today.

The Thanks stamp I mounted onto a small die cut and then also stamped onto the card. Edged with blue Spectrum  Noir pen and then matt and layered onto card base.
