Sweet Poppy Stencil

Sweet Poppy Stencil

Good Morning All. My last card to blog before Christmas is another stencil by Sweet Poppy Stencils.
I thought I would make it light and fresh ( Spring around the corner!!) and used a yellow jelly roll pen for the flowers and Distress pen for the leaves. White glossy paste  and patience to let it dry before matt and layering onto 2 Spellbinders cut diesin white card. Thought the navy background made it pop from the card.

Distressed edged and matt and layered onto a deep jade card.

Sweet Poppy Stencils today

My Stencil today is the Poppy from  Sweet Poppy Stencil. Used a blue micron pen to draw in the outline of the stencil and then used a denim Distress Pen to fill in. Translucent paste and then microbeads  after the stencil had been removed. Ran through a n embossing folder for a change. Layered onto a card and distressed the edges and drew a double blue lie arund.
Matted onto navy card and a lightly pearlised pale grey base of  card from

Heartfelt Creations Stamp

One of my recently acquired stamps from Heartfelt Creation is the basis of my card today

Stamped image and coloured flowers with various Jelly Roll Pens. Used Vintage Photo Distress ink to go lightly over the door. Used a Spellbinders 5 x 7 card creator Die to cut out frame and inked and added copper Stickles. Matt and layered with black card just inside Die cut image and a subtle glitter card under before mounting onto a card base.

Sweet Poppy Stencils

My 2 cards today uses a  Sweet Poppy Stencil coloured through with Pen Touch and Distress Pens. Left to dry and then stencilled with translucent paste. Carefully removed stencil and then covered , whilst wet with clear micro beads. Left them without having a " I'll see if it's dry" dab , overnight to fully dry.
** The card on the left has been distressed lightly with Vintage Photo DI, edged with a memento green and then matt and layered with some ribbon.
** the second card has a bit more technique.  I cut a second piece of card with a  1"  border all round. Put a small bit of double sided tape to hold the top layer to the bottom and then stamp with a Lavinia Stamp to cross both pieces of card. Took top piece off bottom and distressed around the edges.  Used a score board to make a  detail line  around each piece .Matt and layered each piece onto black card. The stencilled piece is mounted using foam pads to lift. Ribbon knot to finish.

Sweet Poppy Stencil and Pan Pastels

My card today is on linen effect card and uses PanPastels and a Sweet Poppy Stencil

I actually worked a bit back to front with this card! Stencilled through with Pans and then used a Iridescent paste thought the stencil. Left to dry to see what colour came through the paste. It was a very subtle colouring on drying  so I thought I would build the background around the shading I achieved and left the centre lightness around the houses and worked out to be darker. Buffed up stencilling with a soft cloth.
Put highlights of Liquid pearls to finish

Christmas Wreath Card with Ribbon weaving

Stamped and heat embossed the holly and flourishes for the background. Added red Stickles for the berries Cut the Spellbinders poinsettia from red Mirri card and the leaves from gold. Assembled the flower with silicone. Made the wreath by ribbon weaving red organza ribbon with a beige satin ribbon. Joined into a circle at the bottom so the join would be hidden by the flower.

Clean and Simple Card ( CAS Card)

Based, with slight variation on a card my friend Eileen has shown before

Pan Pastels with a medium

PanPastels with Maimeri Iridescent paste

I used Pans to create the background , shading from light to heavy purple using Pans. I then covered with the Maimeri Iridescent Paste - tried to get an even covering first go so as not to disturb the Pans. I then used a piece of bubble wrap to push into the paste to give texture to the background. Left to dry overnight, then cut into 3 panels. I embossed a frame around each panel. Mounted onto silver  Centura Pearl card and then pick out the leaf colour for the  card base. Added flowers and leaves made from a Heartfelt Creations Die and a butterfly from a die in my collection. Added Liquid pearls to add further detail onto the flowers

Christmas Card

Christmas Card

Into finishing my Christmas Cards soon, so I thought I would share this card I have made. Backing paper from my stash, Spellbinders Poinsettia Die Set and an Ivy flourish from Tattered Lace and Yellow Ranger Stickles is all you need for this card. I used some textured card I found in my stash for the poinsettia and added the Stickles for the stamens. Gold card for the ivy flourish and that's it!

Rosette Christmas Tree Decoration

This table decoration turned out to be labour of love as I threaded all the beads myself. For every one that went on the thread about 3 bounced onto the floor!!
The concept is quite basic in that the centre upright is a covered straw and a number of rosettes are added.. Each rosette has circle of covered card to support it and are pushed onto the straw. Heat glue gun recommended for strength. Embellishments added - I chose beads to loop round and a pearl to finish. The top decoration is 2 "Bling Dazzles " glued back to back with beads round the " join".
I used Kraft style wrapping paper. About 135gsm. Card would, I think be too thick for creasing.
The tree could be made even simpler by stacking the rosettes on top of each other or a smaller gap left between each layer. I am sure you  will think of different styles.

Mini Gallery of my Christmas card makes today

Used part of a Hobby Art Set for all of these cards today. The 2 reindeers were made using paper piecing, something I had not done before. Worked out quite well I think. The one to the right is a stamped image then worked with the Hobby Art Set to finish and used a star border punch for detail. On the Card below I mounted the Reindeer onto acetate for a change. The other 3 cards are stamped images with Distress Inks and Promarkers. Fairly self explanatory.

Embossed the background with an EF I had and then used watered down acrylics to finish the background. Stamped holly with Versafine and added holly berry pearls. The Spellbinders Stamps were free with a magazine. Stamped them onto coloured card with Versamark and then used a Cosmic Shimmer powder. Ribbon bow and a jewel on each baubles, some matt and layering and that's it.

Hobby Art Christmas Card

Hobby Art Stamp

This card was shown on Create and Craft on Wednesday!
Stamps from a Cute Christmas set from Hobby Art that has a variety of Stamps in it.
Cut  squares of white card. Thought about design and then stamped up. This square will be cut into 4 so place your images so you don't chop something in half!!
Used Pro Markers to colour. I used white acrylic paint to add snow detail and a fine black pen for the snow hills.
When dry, cut into 4 and matt and layer onto green card. Cut a piece of black card, mounted the 4 squares as shown and then did faux stitching. Matted and layered as shown to finish.

Christmas Card and Distress Inks

Sentiment Stamp as focal point

My card today used a background sentiment stamp ( will add the brand when I find out - a bit of a senior moment!) Used a platinum EP Distressed to create the shading, cut into 3 panels,  and mounted onto a white background card. Distressed the backing paper and mounted onto card base and the added to panel. Used a holly leaf punch, punch a few, again Distressed  and creased them and arranged them onto the card. Made a sentiment tag with the background paper on white card and added holly. Used blue crystal effect embellishments to finish.
Thanks to Julie for the idea

Distress Inks and Embossing Powders are the techniques I used for this Winter Scene card. I  distressed the winter sky and shadowing for the snow furrows, which I highlighted with a fine black pen. Used the Lavinia large Christmas Tree stamp and the tree set. Stamped the Deer which I had in my stamp box and then paper pieced the body for interest.

Poinsettia Christmas Cards

Mondays make are  a couple of Poinsettia Christmas Cards...

This first card used a Spellbinders embossing folder ( free with a magazine!),  The poinsettia which is a Spellbinders Die set was cut in a printed matt gold paper. The ivy flourish is a Tattered Lace Die. The yellow stamens are Liquid Pearls. That's it apart from the assembling onto a white card base.

The second card involved more matt and layering. The green worded paper matted onto dotty paper, then red Mirri card, then a stripy paper. I plaited ribbons for detail and added the 2 strips onto the worded paper as shown. 3 Spellbinders Poinsettias and leaves, again Tattered lace ivy flourishes to finish apart from mounting onto an 8" card base.

Christening Card

A CAS Christening Card today....

A quick card today for my dear Grandson's Christening. Just wanted to keep it simple and used the cross from Spellbinders Di'lites. The background was a sparkly parchment and the top was a piece of stock card I had with lemon and blue dots. The wording is printed from Office and the finish was just a piece of twisted blue ribbon and freehand penning before matt and layering.

It's All White!

My Card today is all White for a Challenge I am entering.............

I used White Centura Pearl card for this and started by embossing the background. Apart from a Marianne /die for the butterfly everything else is cut using a selection of  Spellbinders Dies and  D'lites - blossoms and sprigs a window and a base ornate oval. Mounted onto card on which I embossed a trellis on the bottom and a double line around the edges for effect. That's it as there is no colour or technique today just a crisp visual design I think!

I am entering this card into Ali-Craft challenge.

Rhedd and Rosie Bird and Blooms

Birds and  Blooms

I used a Chocolate Baroque set  to make my card today. Created the background using Distress inks. Used them very lightly as I only wanted a very subtle effect. Stamped the flowers and birds onto the card and off to make a few decoupaged pieces. Used various pens to colour including Gelly Roll and Sakura fine pens. Matt and layered onto Mirri /card and a patterned paper before mounting onto the card base.

Hero Art Stamp

Todays Blog is a Card using a Hero Art Stamp......

I used a largish fairly coarse haired brush to apply vertical lines of acrylic paints to create the background. Versamark to stamp the flowers and a fine Cosmic Shimmer EP. Stamped the leaves, again with a Cosmic EP. The veins of the leaves I highlighted in silver to make them "pop" a bit and then a few white dots using a Jelly Roll pen. After matt and layering I tied 2 knots using cream spiders web and stuck them with a hot glue gun to make sure they stayed put!.

Water - lots of it

Distress Inks , a Hero Stamp and lots of water

Had a lot of fun making this card based on a technique we used at Eileen's Workshop a while ago
Stamped the Blossom Hero Art Stamp with Versamark and White fine EP.I used cream double sided pearlescent card.
Spritzed back with water and then the front with water too.
Chose Distress Ink for the flower and stamped splat of colour onto craft mat. Built up the colour of the flowers first, using a medium paintbrush using water which helps the colour to spread, then the leaves, keeping the clean water coming! Used a very dilute flower colour to fill each tiny background flower with a small paintbrush. Left to dry over-night and then added a knot of cream spiders web and a few jewel embellishments and matt and layering to finish.

Lavinia Stamp - Nigella

Today's Card Uses a  Lavinia Floral Stamp

I embossed the card base using a leaf folder. Put artists mask on the square and left to dry before using 3 Distress Inks to create the background. Left to dry ( how patient - of course you could heat dry it!) and then rubbed the artists mask off to reveal the white. Stamped the image with black Versafine and added Liquid Pearls to highlight. Added some raffia string and mounted to finish.
