Woodware Stamps

Woodware Stamps - Grasses

This is a quick card I made today using just the small border stamp from the 2 piece Grasses Set by Woodware. Stamped randomly around the card with Versamark and then used a WOW ~ EP. Made the Buttterfly and ivy leaves from Martha Stewart paper clay. It's very light and flexible and once dry you can paint or, as I did, used gilding wax. Added a bow and flowers from my stash, matt and layered to finish.

CHRISTMAS CARD

Christmas Card

Better in the flesh so to speak as the detail of this embossing folder has not shown up too well.

Distressed Inked some of the folder before I ran it through, then coloured the "gaps" with various green Distress Pens.Random cut round the tree shape.Added a few DewDrops and a bow.

Cut a SpellBinders frame and filled the gap with a pretty parchment Christmas paper. Stuck the tree on with silicone to give a bit of height and mounted it onto gold mirror card, green card and then the base card.

Woodware Stamp Samples

My "play" with Woodware Stamps

tHave been given 2 clear stamps to play with from the Woodware range. The first is grasses. The first was Pans on the background and assorted  Memento  inks. The border (| part of the 2 piece set) was stamped with a WOW EP in a burgundy. Left a border between the 2 stamps to place a ribbon embellishement.Mounted onto deep red card and a narrow border of gold mirror card.

The second card was based on a thick watercolour paper to add texture and I used 3 Distress Inks to create the background. The bottom border was done with a green tint EP but I used black first to make it deeper in colour. Made a sort of pale sea green colour which I picked up with the  ribbons.Used a GellyRoll pen for the embellishment and a few Opal Liquid Pearls to enhance the flowers. Mounted onto a green card  anmd then a white card which was silver embossed all ready.

Thanks for having a peep today.
Have a great Bank Holiday Weekend whatever you are doing!

Lavinia Stamps Challenge August

Lavinia Dandelion Stamp

Hello All ~ my card today is using just one of the Dandelion Stamps and the Bee from Lavinia Stamps. Stamped the Dandelion on a rectangle of card using a white WOW  EP which has a hint of green in it and then used  three colours of Distress Inks to create the background. To make it a little different I used a Spellbinders Die to cut into three shapes and then re-assembled using foam pads and silicone glue to layer at different depths.Stamped the Bees and coloured and drew the birds freehand.Matted onto silver mirrir card.

Rose Card

 Rose Card

This is my own version of the Rose card from the
Saturday Workshop.
First choose your embossing folder - the larger the design the less fiddly is the dusting of the unwanted EP's . Use Versamark and brayer the embossed card lightly but thoroughly.  Brush off any powder that has got caught in the "gaps". Heat gun to set the Powder. Work on a small area at a time and paintbrush water into the spaces between the embossed area. With a Splodge Mat or similar choose the Distress Inks you wish to use and then paint in shading areas to give depth to your project. Complete the background as you wish and mount your finished piece. Hope you can decipher all that!!

Workshop Projects

My Cards from Eileen's Worshop

These three cards were our projects from Eileen's Saturday Workshops eileenscraftyzone.blogspot.com
Various techniques using embossing powders, PanPastels and Distress Inks.Love the rose card.Very effective and the main time consuming part of this was brushing the EP away from the unwanted area. This proved either theraputic or  frustrating ( you know who you are!!)
Will blog my own efforts separately.....

Another enjoyable Class!! Thank you Eileen.

Shell Card

The background card was spritzed using a silvery blue Cosmic Shimmer.
I used Clarity Shell Stamps and embossed them using one of my own mixes of pale blues and beige EP's. The single shell was also stamped and embossed. The shells were framed using Kelp Stamp from Designs by Ryn  designsbyryn.com using Distress Inks in green and brown. I used metallic blue card in 2 shades of blue to mount the crad on and a lighter blue for the next layer before the black.

Cut a die cut window from Cricut Expression and added paper roses ( is there a song in there somewhere??!!), a Spellbinders flourish and butterflies made from Martha Stewart "paper" clay which I tipped with colour using Promarkers. A sentiment and a few pearls to finish. These butterflies are really beautiful and the good thing is that they are squash resisitant after they have dried.
