Creative Expression Dies

Creative Expressions meets Tesco!

I used a 7" square card base and the background glitter sheet was a great find - a Tesco Book covering film!! Adhesive backed it worked a dream!!
The top layer I cut the background die out first and then just embossed the remainder. I ike the cards as they come with a mount so no bother matching the right card ( Anna Marie Designs usually have them but they are popular!).
Used the new Cloud inks - Heather - from cosmic shimmer
( Phill Martin) - super to work with the blending sponges. Matched one of the foundation cards really well. Pearls from my stash - similar from Anna Marie too....
7" Square Linen Embossed Cards & Envelopes -Plus FREE MOUNTS

The two dies I used are:-
Greek Rhodes
Caribbean Island Collection Background Die Set
sentiment stamp from a set by Phill Martin.

I used translucent paste and then glitters on top. I also used the Merry Christmas stencil and that's it! A quick card design which would make a quick batch make.

Inks, Inks and more inks!

Had a great day at the Workshop today -

Here are a couple of my results:-
You need a stencil or an image with a positive and negative.
The aperture needs to big enough to take small stamped images or stencils after inking in a background.
When you are happy with the stamping, mask it off and use a darker colour make the frame effect. On this piece I used Designs by Ryn       Maidenhair Fern and a Hibiscus Leaf stamp!/Hibiscus-Leaf-Set/p/48409228/category=2523274
The foxglove is from a Hobby Art Set.
My secong piece again uses the Hibiscus leaf stamp from Designs by Ryn and a flower burst stamp from VLVS stamps. Highlights in white. Butterfly edge with a gold metallic and also a black pen.
for all the inspiration

Sweet Poppy meets Sue Wilson's Dies!

My Christmas card today uses one of the new Backplates from Sweet Poppy Stencils - Snowflakes. A good size as is - A5 but can easily be extended.
Sweet Poppy Stencil: Snowflake Background Stencil

 Inked through with the new
Cosmic Shimmer Colour Cloud Blending Inks from  Creative Expression.
The dies I have used are
Holly Spray and Poinsettia. I have used Creative Expressions felt for the Poinsettia - it cuts like a dream (I found care needed with very intricate cuts )
Cosmic Shimmer dries white for the berries.
Framed in white and mounted onto silver embossed Mirri card.

Lavinia Stamps - Anything but a card

Anything but a card......

I used the Hougie Board to create an exploding box and mat and layered 4 squares and 8 trianlges and used a variety of Lavinia Stamps with Distress Inks to decorate. Holes punchedin the "inny" triangle and threaded with ribbon to finish. Good for a table decoration with Pot Pourri  or better still filled with yummy chocolates!!

How to achieve a Circle Card that doesn't do a Roly Poly!!

Hi - I have been asked how to get a circle card to stand up without rolling around !! Here hopefully is the way I like to do it as I like symmetry and prefer not to have a flat bit in my circle.....I hope you will leave comment on how you feel I managed. Then I might get a few more tutorials done!!I have used the outer circle from the Crealies Patchwork Set. This is a very basic step by step...I hope I can help those who are new to circle dies....

First step is to fold your card. You can use a pre-scored card base if you prefer. Let the die show a small amount as shown on the folded  side. Tape down if necessary

Front of card with die in position. Run through your machine

This is what the folded edge now looks like.

You'll need a scoring board or similar. Line up the folded edge to the left.

to make your card stand flat score a line on the right hand side as shown. This only need to be 1-2mm. I usually use the first channel that I can score. Cut this small piece off

This is what the card base looks like now

This is what your fold line looks like

Now cut a single circle and stick it onto the card base. Voila your little straight line on the fold has gone but...................

Your card is standing!!
Front of card                                                                                                       Back of card

Thank you for having a look ...Have fun!
Any questions please ask as a  comment and I will try to help
